Many distinguishing features from the production edition were kept, however the ratios are changed.
The Sierra EV, a second electric truck in GMC's lineup, is also available. Although the final result appears crisp, an early conception sketch reveals that the original concept is considerably more muscular and sharp.
Jason Chen, a GM designer, created the drawing and shared it on the official General Motors Design Instagram. The depiction shows a truck that could only exist in the virtual world because of its smaller greenhouse and well defined front end. Although we must admit it appears gorgeously edgy this way, the truck would have been difficult to drive in real life due to the imaginary proportions.
Nevertheless, many of the distinguishing features from the conceptualization drawing were carried over into the final GMC Sierra EV. All of the front lighting components, the "grille," the fenders, and the chiseled side panels were there but in proportions that were sensible.
The Sierra EV, which is scheduled to hit dealerships in early 2024, will join the Hummer EV as GMC's second all-electric pickup truck. With the Ultium battery pack built into the unibody construction, it boasts a range of up to 400 miles on a single charge. With an 800V DC capability and the ability to rapidly charge, it can add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. If the required tools are accessible, the Sierra EV can also run a house's vital appliances for 21 days.
